SUMMARY:ARRL Field Day
DESCRIPTION:AARO members at the May meeting unanimously agreed to join San Antonio Radio Club (SARC) at the City of Shavano Park City Hall Pavilion for the annual ARRL Field Day. This will ensure higher turnout and allow us to share in the ammenities such as restrooms and refreshments. \n\n\n\nThe area is shaded under a large breezy wooden canopy where fans should be present to keep the heat managable. The official event starts at 1PM\, but people may begin showing up around noon to get settled in and prepared. \n\n\n\nFor a PDF with extensive details including radio resources\, CLICK HERE. \n\n\n\nIf you aren’t licensed by the FCC\, Field Day is for you too! We will have licensed operators present to instruct you on proper equipment use and allow you to get on the air! You’re welcome to get an Associate Membership and enjoy food\, conversation\, and learning about amateur radio equipment and licensing. DESCRIPTION:Join Icom for the biggest D-STAR QSO Party. Communicate through as many D-STAR repeaters as possible\, all around the world. Operators who submit an approved log will be eligible to win an IC-R30\, among other great prizes! Find out how you can be one of our 16 lucky winners! \nThe goal of the D-STAR QSO PARTY is to communicate through as many D-STAR repeaters as possible throughout the world. All operators who submit an approved log will be eligible for the prize draw. Winners will be randomly selected to each win a prize. The more D-STAR QSO’s you make\, the more chances you have to win. Please refer to the entry multipliers below. \n\n\nTo qualify for prize draw point\, you need to contact more than 10 amateurs through at least one repeater in your own country.\nIf you contact more than 20 amateurs\, you will qualify for two points.\nIf you contact amateurs in more than 5 foreign countries\, you will qualify for one point.\nIf you contact amateurs in more than 10 foreign countries\, you will qualify for two points.\n\n\n<For example> \nIf you contact 25 amateurs and 15 foreign countries\, you will get total four (4) points.
